Miniature opto sensors

Miniature opto sensors are used in application areas that demand the highest precision in a minimum amount of space. These sensors feature a fundamental advantage compared with conventional fibre optics. The sensor cables are highly flexible as well as mechanically and chemically resistant. Due to their extremely high resolution it is possible to detect even the smallest objects.

On the basis of miniaturization and precision, the sensors are best suitable for the most difficult applications. Until now it was only possible to use compromising solutions like considerably more expensive laser light barriers.

A Pantron miniature opto system consists of one sensor and one amplifier that is available in different, extremely compact and rugged designs. Due to the small design it is no problem to install the system in movable machine parts like robot arms.

Our miniature opto sensors detect with the highest precision, even very small objects. As a through-beam sensor, it can cover an area of 40 to 4000 mm and as a reflex light sensor an area of 0,4 to 200 mm.

The amplifier is available in several variants. It starts with the basic device that has a manual sensitivity setting and ends with fully automated amplifiers that work with automatic sensitivity adjustment.  As a result, many applications are possible. According to requirements, the system may be used as a through-beam sensor, reflected-light barrier, and a reflex light sensor.
