Questions about amplifier

Can I connect the transmitter outputs of an 8-channel opto sensor directly at the amplifier ...

...and connect the transmitters parallel to this line, to save connections?

Connections of each individual channel of 4-channel or 8-channel amplifier (series IMX... / ISM... / ICL...) may not be connected directly together. Every sensor must have his own wire.

Transmitter and receiver may use a common ground wire, but they may not use a single ground wire together.

I have an amplifier type NRTL/C LR 100217 ...

...can I still order this type?

The number NRTLC LR 100217 is our former CSA report number. You can find this number on most of older amplifiers with 11-pole socket.

For identification of the amplifier, we need the type designation. The type plate is located below the 11-pole plug on the back side of the amplifier. If the type plate isn't there any more, we need photos from front of the amplifier and from the side label resp. side print. Also we need information about the supply voltage.

Almost every old amplifier is available any more or a replacement type is available.

I have an amplifier type 947/S 88/236 ...

...can I still order this type?

The number SAFETY-SYSTEM, APPROVAL-No. 947/S 88/236 TÜV/Germany is a former safety certification number found on the ISG-A14-100 amplifier, a system used for crush protection on electric doors.

It was replaced by the ISG-A103

Questions about sensor heads

Can I use connection cables with integrated LED for ...

...sensors IT-M12 or IR-M12?
Connection cables with integrated LED are recommended for compact opto sensors. For sensor heads in combination with external amplifiers a connection cable without integrated LED must be used.

In wich direction lays the cable, when I use connection cables with right angled plug ...

... for sensor heads type AS or SLA?

At the sensor type AS the cable shows towards the flange (in the opposite direction of the light emission).
At the sensor type SLA the cable shows also in the opposite direction of the light emission.
When mounted on a wall the cable shows towards the wall. Therefor, a suitable hole in the wall is provided.

How can I distinguish between transmitter and receiver?

Transmitter type P10 and M12 have red end caps, receiver type P10 and M12 a black one.

All other types have a type designation printed on the type plate, IT... for transmitters and IR... for receivers.

Sensor heads with cable are distinguishable by the cable type. Transmitters have a two-wired cable with a red and a black wire. Receivers have a shielded cable with a yellow wire.

Can I connect several transmitters and receivers in parallel to a single-channel amplifier?

No. It's possible to connect two transmitters in parallel, but the transmit current splits unevenly because of little differences between the forward voltages of the transmitting diodes.

To get a higher transmit power (higher penetration), connect two transmitters in series.

Don't connect two receivers in parallel.

I want to control two beams a the same time ...

...the relay should act, if both beams are interrupted. Therefor I want to use one transmitter and two receivers in a V-shaped arrangement with a single channel amplifier.

Don't connect two receivers in parallel. The behavior of a light barrier with two receivers connected in parallel isn't predictable.

To control two beams, use two single-channel amplifiers or a multi-channel amplifier.

Questions about obsolete and foreign order codes

What is ZVE11?

Also known as ZVE 11, ZVEII, ZVE2 or AZVE 11
This number sometimes is used for our 11-pole socket ISO 1

I need "Controller Card, Make: Ege-Electronik"
